Hard Surface Modeling

Hard surface modeling is when you use sharp lines and faces to bring out details in objects.

My biggest challenges with this project were getting the liquid simulation just right with enough detail and getting the focus just right. I solved the liquid simulation by giving it a higher resolution and increasing the size of everything else. I fixed the focus by changing the F-stop value by .01 until it looked right.

Donuts Scene

The project was mostly easy however I had issues getting the icing to look right. It did not sit
well on the donut no matter what changes I made and in the end i had to take a sub-par bake and
sculpt it into what I wanted.

Lighthouse Camera Angles

This shot was taken from a Worm's Eye View which shows the lighthouse from a grounded angle and it has variety because of all the different raindrops.
This shot was taken from a Point of View which shows the lighthouse from the inside looking out and it has repetition due to the repeated glass texture.
This shot was taken from an Over the Shoulder View which shows what the lighthouse is pointed towards and it uses proportion by putting the lighthouse really close to the camera.
This shot was taken from a Medium shot which shows the about half the lighthouse and it uses the rule of thirds because the lighthouse is placed on a point of emphasis.
This shot is a Long Shot which shows the whole lighthouse and it uses informal balance because of the imbalance between the lighthouse being on one side but not the other.
This shot is an Eye Level Shot which shows the lighthouse nearly facing the camera and it uses repetition because of all the slanted lines from the rain.
This shot is an Extreme Close Up shot which shows the lighthouse so closely you can make out the individual panes on the windows and it uses texture because the bump-mapping makes it look like it has rain on the window.
This shot is a Close Up shot which shows the lighthouse from a very short distance away and it uses formal balance because the lighthouse is in the center of the shot.
This shot is a Bird's Eye view which shows the lighthouse from very high up and it uses emphasis because the lighthouse is the largest and most detailed object in view.
I like the way the textures work on the lighthouse and and the halo worked very well in tandem with the spotlight but if I did this again I would definitely fix the shoreline to be more smooth and have a better texture.
